Playing with the Positive
Let's play with words today. Words and thoughts can have a huge impact on our day to day feelings. With so much negativity and darkness in our world, we need to shine our light by thinking and speaking more positively.
Take a moment to think of words that you tell yourself that are negative or untrue. Make a list of them on one side of the paper. Feel your heart rate rise and even those feelings start to take over your emotions. Yuck. NOW, pause for a moment… time to CHANGE your thoughts and your words to the positive.
NEXT, write down the opposite or positive form of the word on the other side. Ahhh yes, feel those GOOD feelings are starting to arise. Your heart rate slows and a sweet smile comes to your face. That feels much better. Good!
I’m dedicating this post to my new Networking for Introverts group. As someone that used to be shy and have negative feelings toward myself (and still do sometimes) I wanted to create a safe place for the shy, reserved, and introvert types. My vision is to bring us together for support in turn bringing more of their beautiful light to shine in this dark world. During the first meeting we played a fun and imaginative word game. The main idea behind my game is to get them thinking about words in a new and creative way.
Now onto the words. You can make your own list of read through my suggestions. Start with the negative and then quickly think of the opposite/positive word. Have fun and feel all the feelings…
Here’s some words that might trigger sadness or feelings of unworthiness:
